OVERTURE
An unjuried showcase for OPAG members
Entry deadline November 1 , 2010.
This exhibit is the warm up show to provide a preparatory rehearsal for the painting that the artist may be entering in the later juried BRUSHSTROKES 2011 showcase entitled INSIDE OUT. The theme, although liberal, is based on the concept of introspection, the self-portrait.
Throughout history the Masters have completed self portraits. These images were the looking glass into their character, their personal dilemma.
Acceptable media includes Oil, Acrylic, Pastel, Encaustic, Collage, and Mixed Media. 2-D entries only. 1 entry per artist. Artists set their sales price. Artwork does not have to be for sale.
Entries must be executed on a 12X12X1.5 inches gallery wrapped canvas. Preferred is a cotton pre-stretched canvas available at Michaels, Aaron Brothers, or online from various art suppliers. Furthermore, canvas’ must be ready for hanging with two “D” rings, one on each side, placed 2” from the top of the piece. Submitting artists will receive a template and 2 D-rings once via mail. ( Artwork submitted not meeting these guidelines may be rejected from this showcase without refund of entry fee.) |

Venues for OPAG members to show their paintings are expanding, with the Board working to provide additional options. In 2011 two exhibits are proposed for the SLOMoA McMeen Gallery for OPAG members. These are in addition to the major Gray Wing Show, INSIDE OUT scheduled for April 3 through May 8, 2011.
